Zollernalb Buzzard ZBU180 – the new automatic battery-powered wire binding machine
The Zollernalb Buzzard ZBU180 is the new generation of the proven battery-powered wire binding tool. The device was developed for fast, even, and effortless binding work on reinforcing steel, rebar, steel mesh, and other wire connections.
The entire binding process is automatic. After positioning the machine, a simple press of the trigger is all it takes. The wire is guided around the workpiece, twisted, and then automatically cut.
This makes recurring tying work significantly faster and more comfortable than with conventional tying pliers.
Adjustable with 1, 2 or 3 binding loops
The new ZBU180 allows you to set via the digital control panel whether the connection should be made with one, two or three binding loops .
- 1 loop: for quick fixings and low wire consumption
- 2 loops: for a balanced combination of speed and strength
- 3 loops: for particularly strong and stable bindings
The number of loops can therefore be chosen to suit the respective application and the desired stability.
Electronically adjustable bond strength
In addition to the number of loops, the binding tightness can also be adjusted directly on the device.
The clear display allows for quick adjustment to different material thicknesses and working conditions. This results in uniform bonds with the desired tension.
Makita compatible battery holder
The Zollernalb Buzzard ZBU180 features a Makita-compatible battery mount in the 18-volt system .
The package includes a suitable 21-volt lithium-ion battery with 2,000 mAh and the corresponding charger. The wire binding tool can therefore be used immediately after charging.
The specification of 21 volts refers to the maximum voltage of the included battery. The battery system used is an 18-volt system.
Transparent side cover
One important new feature is the transparent cover on the right side of the device .
Wire guidance, gear mechanism, and feed rate can be quickly checked. If the wire jams or is not transported correctly, the cause can be identified more easily.
This saves time in troubleshooting and reduces unnecessary work interruptions.
Fast and energy-saving work
The ZBU180 automatically handles the feeding, twisting, and cutting of the wire. This significantly reduces the strain on hands and wrists compared to manual binding.

Easy wire roll replacement
The wire spool is inserted into the designated magazine. The wire is then fed into the guide, and the device is ready for the next binding process.
The ZBU180 uses binding wire with a diameter of 0.8 mm . A suitable roll of wire is included in the scope of delivery.

Notes
The actual number of possible ties per wire roll depends on the tying diameter, the set tying strength, and the selected number of tying loops.
Before inserting or changing the wire spool, the device must be switched off and the battery removed. Deformed, kinked, or dirty wire can impair wire guidance and automatic feed.
